Los Angeles Crime Rate — June 2026

Tarzana other larceny ran 88% above its multi-year baseline.

Tarzana other-larceny rose 88% against its multi-year baseline, the strongest single signal in Los Angeles this month and the first time this neighborhood-category combination has topped the citywide rankings. Four of the top five signals this period are other-larceny spikes, with Studio City, Beverlywood, and North Hills each registering the same move, making the category the dominant story even as the citywide trend runs in the opposite direction.

Citywide volume is down 18.9% against the prior 12 months, 105,148 incidents against 129,576 the year before. The signal mix is heavily weighted toward declines: 219 below-trend signals and 163 sustained-shift signals against 13 spikes across 114 neighborhoods. Windsor Square vandalism is the one fresh spike outside the other-larceny cluster, and two streak-break signals round out the upper tier.

The structural picture for June 2026 is a broad, sustained citywide decline with a concentrated counter-move in other-larceny across several neighborhoods. Whether that cluster reflects a localized pattern or the early edge of a broader category shift is the question October's data will begin to answer. For now, the decline holds as the dominant structural fact, and other-larceny is the category to watch.

Sustained drops worth naming

Burglary ran below trend in the trailing 12 months — 25% down from the year before. Sustained shifts often precede a baseline reset; we surface them at the same prominence as spikes.
